Welcome to Crookabeck Farm
Mary Bell has been breeding Angora Goats in the English Lake District since 1988. Their exceptionally fine mohair fleeces are spun, dyed and sold in the Farm Shop as high quality knitting yarn. Visitors describe the mohair shop as a real Aladdin's Cave, full of brilliant shining colours. Recently Crookabeck kid mohair has been spun, knitted and dyed into soft, comfortable, hardwearing socks now available to buy online.
Cumbria is the home of the attractive and hardy Herdwick sheep. The Herdwicks are great characters with white faces and legs. They product hardwearing wool, and we have a range of products available including wool, Throws and Rugs, Floor Rugs and Herdwick Wool Dog Leads.
Crookabeck is a 40 acre farm beneath Place Fell in Patterdale in the Lake District. The farm is in a stunning location with the Kirkstone Pass to Windermere to the south and to the North England’s most beautiful lake, Ullswater. We overlook the impressive Helvellyn mountain range and Striding Edge.
As well as running the farm and the farm shop Crookabeck also offers a range of holiday accommodation for visitors looking to enjoy the beautiful surroundings, including bed and breakfast and self catering.
